教材分析(教学要求)重点1 millionahundred 100athousand 1,000tenthousand 10,000amillion 1,000,000重点2 -if句上个学期,我们曾经学过由if引导的句子,你还记得吗?对了,“i’llnotgotothezooifitrainstomorrow.(假如明天下雨,我就不去动物园。)youcancometothepartyifyoudon’twearjeans.(如果你不穿牛仔裤,你就能来舞会。)”这个学期又在本单元见到了似曾相识的同样由if引导的句子,比如:“ifiwonthelottery,iwouldgiveittomedicalresearch.(假如我赢了彩票的话,我就捐给医学研究。)ifiwereyou,iwouldwearjeansandt-shirt.(如果我是你,我就穿牛仔裤和t恤。)”这两个单元学到的句子都是由if引导的。那么,它们有什么区别呢?对了,分两种情况:
1.somethingmaypossiblehappen某事发生的可能性较大。这种情况,有个十三字口诀:“主将从现,主过将从过,主现从现”。即主句是一般将来时,从句用一般现在时;主句用过去将来时,从句用一般过去时;当主句中有can/can’t的话,则从句用一般现在时。例如:
ifhehastime,hewillcometomorrow.
ifshefinishesearly,shecancomebackearly.ifyoudon’tdohomework,theteacherwillscoldyou.
2.itisjustimaginary,andnothingwillhappen某事只是想象的,并不会发生,或者发生的可能性很小。则要用我们常说的虚拟语气。例如:

ifihadmoremoney,iwouldbuyallofthem.(idon’t.)
ifheweregenerous,hewouldgiveusagoodtreat.(heisn’t.)

一、重点词汇
1.millionn.百万
要注意的是:million与hundred,thousand,billion(十亿)的用法相同:
当前面有别的基数词如one,two,three,four……时,即“若千百万”时,其本身都不要加s,如:threemillionstudents
若表示:“成百万”时,前面不能有基数词,但其本身要用复数形式,然后+of+名词复数。如:hundredsofmillionsof(数以千百万的…...)
正误判断
我们这个城市有大约两百万工人.
[误]thereareabouttwomillionsworkersinourcity
[正]thereareabouttwomillionworkersinourcity
[析]几百万的表达法是基数词加million,而且不要加s.
这样的单位还有billion,hundred,thousand,dozen(打),score(20年)等。
(2)中国有数以百万计的老年人钟爱并练习气功.
[误]inchinatherearemillionofoldpeoplelovinganddoing“qigong”.
[正]inchinatherearemillionsofoldpeoplelovinganddoing“qigong”.
[析]当表达数百万时,要用millionsof这一结构。
2.comeupwith提出;想出
comeupwith=findorproduce(ananswer)意思是“找到,提出(答案、解决方法等)”。这是动词和介词一起构成的固定词组,一般称为短语动词。又如:
theteacheraskedadifficultquestion,butfinallyjohncameupwithagoodanswer.
老师问了一道难题,但是最后约翰还是做出了一个很好的回答。
hecouldn’tcameupwithananswerwheniaskedhimwhyhewaslate.
当我问他为什么迟到的时候,他答不出来。
oneday,adisoncameupwithangoodidea.
有一天爱迪生想出了一个办法。
3.intheslightest一点(不);根本
intheslightest通常用在否定句中,notintheslightest=notatall表示“毫不;一点也不”
eg.youdidn’tbothermeintheslightest.
你一点也没有打扰我。
thereisnottheslightestreason.
毫无理由。
4.plentyof很多的;足够的
1)plentyof=many用来修饰可数名词
eg.thereisplentyofeggsinthefridge.
2)plentyof+much用来修饰不可数名词
eg.don’tworry.thereisplentyoftimeleft.
注意:anumberof,agreatmany也表示“很多”但只能用来修饰可数名词
二、重、难点句子
1.butifyouarestillnervous,youdon’thavetogo.
但是,如果你依然紧张,你就不必去了。
don’thaveto=don’tneedto=needn’t表示“不必”.又如:

我必须带礼物吗?
—no,youdon’thaveto.
不,不必.
2.whatifeveryoneelsebringapresent?
要是别人都带礼物怎么办?
whatif=whatwouldhappenif…?
要是……又怎样?

假如下起雨来,我们又没处避雨怎么办。
3.youliketalkingtooneortwopeopleratherthantoagroup.
你喜欢和一个人交流,而不是和一群人。
ratherthan=inpreferenceto(sb/sth);insteadof与其(某物/某事物);不愿;不要;不是
eg.ithinki’llhaveacolddrinkratherthancoffee.
我想喝冷饮,不想喝咖啡。
ratherthanriskbreakinguphismarriage,hetoldhiswifeeverything.
他唯恐婚姻破裂,把一切告诉了妻子。
4.hedividedthemintotwoteamsofnineandtaughtthemhowtoplaythisnewgame.
他把他们分成九人一组,教他们如何玩这种游戏.
divide…into…=(causesthto)breakeintoparts;separate把……分开;分隔
eg.theydividedalargehouse(up)intoflats.
他们把一所大房子分隔成若干套间.
wemustdividetheclass(up)intosmallgroups.
women必须把那个班分成几个小组。
三、语法
虚拟语气 subjunctivemood(一)
虚拟语气在条件从句(protasis)中的用法:
条件从句有两类:
真实条件句;
虚拟条件句。
如果假设情况有可能发生的,就是“真实条件句”。
eg.iftimepermits,we’llgofishingtogether.
如果有时间的话,我们就一起去钓鱼。
如果假设的情况与事实相反,则为“虚拟条件句”。
eg.ifithadrainedyesterday,wewouldhavestayedathome.
如果昨天下雨的话,我们就会留在家里。
(事实是:昨天没有下雨,我们外出了)
一)虚拟语气在非真实条件句中的应用
阅读:
1.ifiwereyou,i’dwearashirtandtie.
2.ifwehadfoundheraddress,wewouldhavewrittenher.
3.whatwouldyoudoifyouwonthelottery?
4.whatwouldyoudoifthereshouldbe(weretobe)anaccident?
5.ifithadnotbeenforyourhelp,weshouldnothavesucceeded.
6.ifwehadbeengivenmoretime,wecouldhavedoneitbetter.
7.ifyouhadnothelpedme,iwouldn’thavepassedtheexam.
提示:
1.在从句中,be动词多用were的形式。在口语中,如果主语是第一、第三人称单数的话,be动词可用was,但人们总是说:ifiwereyou…
2.主句中的谓语可以由would,should,could和might这四个不同的情态动词来构成。
3.与将来事实相反的条件从句中,谓语有三种不同的形式:过去式、were+todo或should+do。
实例解读:
与现在事实相反的假设(事情的发生都在同一时间内);
1.ifiwereyou,ishouldbuyit.
(如果我是你,我就会买了它。)
(从句用过去式动词were,主句用shouldbuy)
2.ifihadtime,iwouldstudyfrench.
(如果有时间,我会学习法文。)
(从句用过去式动词had,主句wouldstudy)
3.ifsheknewenglish,shewouldnotaskmeforhelp.
(如果她懂英文,她就不必要我帮了。)
(从句用过去式动词knew,主句用wouldnotask)
与过去事实相反的假设(假设从句的事实为过去的事):
1.ifyouhadstudiedharderlastterm,youcouldhavepassedexam.
(从句动词用hadstudied,主句动词用couldhavepassed)
如果你在上个学期用功一,你就会在考试中过关了。
2.ifyouhadtakenmyadvice,youwouldn’thavefailedintheexam.
(从句动词用hadtaken,主句动词用wouldn’t+havefailed)
如果你当时听从我的劝告的话,你就不会在考试中失败了。
3.ifithadsnowed,iwouldhaveskiedinthepark.
(从句动词用hadsnowed,主句动词用wouldhaveskied)
如果下雪的话,我就可在公园里滑雪了。
与将来的事实可能相反(对将来的事实实现的可能性不大):
