largevocabularycardswithwordsthatstudentshavelearnedsofar,emphasizingthenewwordsinthislevelNote:Inthisgame,thestudentsdrawpicturestoillustratewordsandphrases.
Choosevocabularywordsthatwillberelativelyeasytodraw.
Thisgameisaneffectivewayofreinforcingcomprehensionandreviewingvocabulary.
Youwillneedastopwatch,watchorclockwithasecondhand,andalargecontainersuchasaboxorhat.Spreadoutthevocabularycards,faceup,ontopofalargedeskortable.

DividethecLaSSintotwoteams.Appointsomeoneasthetimekeeper.Team1choosestwoplayerswhogotothefrontoftheroom.Player1takesavocabularycardfromthecontainer.Thisplayermusttrytoshow,throughdrawingonly,whatitsaysonthisvocabularycard.Heorshemaynotsayanything,pointtoanything,writeanything,orprovideaclueinanywayotherthandrawing.
Bylookingatthedrawing,Player2triestomatchthewordorphrasewithavocabularycard.Team2mustremainquiet!
ThetimekeeperkeepstrackOfhowmanysecondsittakesTeam1tomatchthewordorphrase.Themaximumtimeallowedistwominutes.Whentheteamcorrectlymatchesthewordorphrase,recordthistimeontheblackboard.Ifateamusesupthemaximumtimewithoutmatchingcorrectly,theirrecordedtimewillbetwominutes.
NextTeam2sendstwoplayerstothefrontofthecLaSSroomtochooseavocabularycardanddrawandmatchthewordorphrase.Playasmanyroundsofthisgameasyouwish.Theteamwiththeleasttotaltimeattheendofthegamewins.
