‘bring’and‘take’,‘hear’and‘listen’,‘see’,‘look’and‘watch’,‘come’and‘go’. 正确使用经常混淆的动词。

2.useappropriatelanguagetotalkaboutcrimes,suspects,innocenceand      guilt.   用恰当的语言来谈论罪行、嫌疑犯、无辜和有罪。

二.重点、难点:

comicstrips

1.whyareyoudressedlikethat,eddie?   你为何打扮成那样?埃迪?

dress在这里是动词,“穿着衣服”。常用于被动语态,bedressed表示某人在某个场合穿着什么衣服。

eg.theyweredressedinthemostfashionableclothes.他们穿着最时髦的衣服。

heiswelldressed.  他穿得很体面。

dressoneself  自己穿衣服

dressup  乔装打扮

2.thisismuchmoreserious.  这要严重得多。

much  得多,修饰比较级。

3.myfoodhasgonemissing. 我的食物不见了。

missing,形容词,“找不到的,不在原处的”,表示目前的状态。

eg.haveyouseenabookwithtwopagesmissing? 

reading

1.hewaslastseenleavinghisofficeinnewtownatabout7p.m.

他最后被人看见是在晚上7点离开他在新镇的办公室。

last 作为形容词,表示“最后的,刚过去的”。

eg.inthelastfewdays,we’vevisitedmyfather’srelatives.

last也可做动词,表示“持续、维持”。

eg.wehaveenoughwatertolastfivedays.

2.theyarenotsurewhetherthevictimwaskilledsomewhereelseandthenbroughttovalleytown,orkilledattheplacewherehewasfound. 他们不能确定受害者是否在别处被杀死后弃尸于谷镇,还是在被发现处遇害的。

whether在句中表示“是否”,有时可以和if交换使用。但whether后面可以跟ornot,而if不能。

eg.iwonderwhethertheywillcomeornot.  我不知道他们是否会来。

iwonderiftheywillcome.

3.weareaskinganyonewhosawanythingunusuallastnighttocontactus.  我们现在请昨晚看见任何异常情况者与我们联系。

whosawanythingunusuallastnight是定语从句,主要句子成份是:weareaskinganyonetocontactus.

4.detectivelusaidthatthevictimwasattackedwithaknifeandbledtodeathasaresult.   卢侦探说遇害者是被刀剌中,因失血过多而死。

asaresult 词组,“因此,作为结果”。先交代原因,再用asaresult连接结果,可放在句尾,也可放在句子中间。

eg.it’sraininghard,andasaresultwecan’tgoout. 雨下的很大,因此我们不能出去。

asaresultof… 因为……,由于……

wecan’tgooutasaresultoftheheavyrain.

5.thevictimobviouslyputupagoodfight. 受害者显然做了殊死搏斗。

putup 进行斗争,进行反抗,常用putupafight。

eg.thesoldersputupafightagainsttheenemy’sattack. 士兵们奋力抵抗敌人的进攻。

6.detectivelusaidthatthevictimwasguiltyofcomputercrimesinthepast. 卢侦探说遇害者过去参与过电脑犯罪活动。

beguiltyof  在……方面有罪

7.hewaschargedwithbreakingintoseveralcomputersystemsoverthelastyear. 去年他被指控非法闯入几家电脑系统。

chargewith…  指控、告发

eg.thepolicechargedhimwithmurder.  警察指控他谋杀。

bechargedwith   是被动语态,被指控……

chargewith  还有“指示、委以某人责任”的意思。

eg.theteacherchargedmewithcallingthenames.   老师委派我点名。

8.sofar,theonlysuspectisashort,thinmanwhowasseenrunningdownupperstreetat10lastnight.   到目前为止,唯一的嫌疑人是一个矮、瘦的人,有人看见他昨晚10点沿着阿佩尔街跑。

sofar 到目前为止,常用于现在完成时态中。

eg.sofarwehaven’tfoundthewaytosolvetheproblem.

hehaswrittenthreeletterssofar.

9.thevictim’sparentshaveofferedarewardof¥50,000foranyinformationthatleadstothearrestofthemurderer.  受害者的父母已为任何提供抓捕凶手的线索出五万酬金。

leadto  通向,导致……

eg. allroadsleadtorome.  殊途同归。

hishardworkledtohisgreatsuccess.  他的努力工作造就了他的成功。

a: commonlyconfusedverbs  经常混淆的动词

1.bring/take

◆bring “带来”,是把东西带到说话者身边。

◆take  “带走”,是把东西带离说话者。

eg. mymotherbroughtmysomenewclothes.

takeitawayplease,idon’tlikeit.

2.listen/hear

◆listen 表示“听”,强调“听”这个动作。是集中注意力主动去听的。

◆hear 表示“听见”,强调“听”的内容。可能是被动听到的。

eg. listentotheradio!there’sabeautifulsong.  

icanhearsomeonespeaking.

◆hear一词一般不用进行时,不说i’mhearing或iwashearing,而用can或could。

3.come/go

◆come表示“来”,指朝向说话者方向移动。

◆go表示“去”,是指向离开说话者的方向移动。

eg. pleasecomeandplaywithme.

goandgettheball.

4.see/look/watch

◆see表示“看见”,强调看到的东西。可能不是故意看到的。

◆look表示“看”,强调“看”这个动作。是集中注意力主动去看。后面带宾语时,要加介词“at”。

◆watch表示“观看”,强调看到事物的变化、移动或发展。也是主动去看。

eg.  isawalovelybirdyesterday.  我昨天看到一只可爱的鸟。

pleaselookattheblackboard!  请看黑板!
