wespendtooreckless,laughtoolittle,getangrytooquickly,standuptoolate,getuptootired.wehavemultiplyourpossessions,butreduceourvalues.wetalktoomuch,laughtoolittleandlietoooften.we’velearnthowtomakealiving,butnotalife.we’veaddedyearstolife,notlifetoyears.

sowegetmoreandmoretired.evenasmallfailurecanbreakusdown.it’stimetochangeourminds.

holdfasttolife,butnotsofastthatyoucan’tletgo.byalwayschasingafternewgoals,we’reneverreallyappreciatingwhatwealreadyhaverightnow.wheniwalkedinthestreetoneday,thesunlighthitme.hoebeautifulitwas,howwarming,howsparking,howbrilliant!ilookedaroundtoseeifanyoneelserelishedthesun’sgoldglow,buteveryonewasgoingtoorfro,mostwitheyesfixedontheground.theirealizemostofus,havebeenindifferenttothegrandeurofeachday,toopreoccupiedwithpettyandsometimesevenmeaninglessconcerns.atthatmoment,icametoknowlife’sgiftsareprecious---butwe’retooheedlessofthem.

surelywemustholdfasttolife,forit’swonderfulandfullofbeauties.weknowthatisso,butoftenwerecognizethistruth,onlyinourbackwardglancewhenwerememberwhatwas,andthenrealizethatisnomore.

werememberabeautythatfaded,alovethatwaned.butwerememberwithfargreatpainthatwedidn’tseethatbeautywhenitflowered,thatwefailtorespondwithlovewhenitwastendered.don’trunthroughlifesofastthatyouforgetnotonlywhereyou’vebeen,butalsowhereyou’regoing.lifeisnotarace,butajourneytobeenjoyedslowlyeachstepoftheway.dreamwhatyouwanttodream,gowhereyouwhattogo,bewhatyouwanttobe,becauseyouhaveonlyonelifeandonechancetodoallthethingsyouwanttodo.thehappiestofpeopledon’tnecessarilyhavethebestofeverything.theyjustmakethemosteverythingthatcomesalongtheirways.
