ThetreeIplantedlastyearnowisverytall.Iamsoproudtoseeitsgrowth.Ihavemadeacontributiontobringingtheworldgreenandprotectingtheenvironment.

每年3月12日，我们学校都有特别的活动。我们要在校园里植树。我们很兴奋看到小树每天在不断的生长。我去年种的树现在已经长得很高了。看到它的生长我很自豪。我为世界贡献了绿色，保护了环境。

Inmanycountriesithaslongbeenthetraditiontoholdanannualtreeorforestfestival.Theoriginofsuchcelebrationsdatesbacktoantiquityandisinthedawnofreligiousfeelingandaweforwhattreesrepresented.However,ArborDay,asitiscommonlyknowntoday,isofAmericanoriginandevolvedfromconditionspeculiartotheGreatPlains.ItwasfirstobservedinNebraskain1872.Theidea,conceivedbyJ.S.Morton,thenamemberoftheNebraskaStateBoardofAgriculture,wasoneofforestconservation.

Itwasamovetopromotereplanting,followingdeforestation,andtoplantuptreelessareas.Theideahasspreadwidelytootherlandswhereitisvariouslycelebratedasthe'FestivalofTrees','GreeningWeek'ofJapan,'TheNewYear'sDaysofTrees'inIsrael,'TheTree-lovingWeek'ofKorea,'TheReforestationWeek'ofYugoslavia,'TheStudents'AfforestationDay'ofIcelandand'TheNationalFestivalofTreePlanting'inIndia.

ArborDayinitsvariousformsisnowrecognisedinmorethanfiftycountries.THEIMPORTANCEOFARBORDAYOnArborDay,particularattentionisdrawntotheparttreesplayinourlives.It'snotjustadaytoplanttreesandthenforgetthegestureforanothertwelvemonths.Plantingatreeonedayisnocredittousif,duringtherestoftheyear,weneglecttocareforitandthosealreadygrowing.OurthoughtonArborDayshouldbeanexpressionofenduringfeeling,thoughtandactionandnotjustonesingle,isolatedflameofinterest.

Inschoolsandothercommunitygroups,thisdaycanbecelebratedinmanydifferentways.·Byplantingtreesorshrubsinschoolgrounds,alongneighbouringstreetsorincivicparks.·By'adopting'apatchofbush,withthelandowner'sconsent,andcaringforitbyremovalofweeds,rubbish,etc,bypreparingfirebreaksandbyfencingandmakingpathstoreducetrampling.·BypresentingaplayormimeabouttreesinthehistoryofAustralia.
